What is Unmanned Systems Canada? Download Unmanned Systems Canada Brochure Unmanned Systems Canada - the focal point for Unmanned Vehicle Systems in Canada. We are a Canadian-registered not-for-profit association representing the interests of the UVS community. Our objectives are:
Unmanned Systems Canada - Introduction The technology that enables successful unmanned vehicle systems has matured dramatically. Canadians continue to lead the sector with notable successes. MD Robotics and the Canadarm 2 on the International Space Station and CDL Systems and their Vehicle Control System at the heart of the US Army Shadow 200 UAV system are marvelous testaments to the tremendous talents of Canadians to innovate and deliver world-leading solutions. Unmanned Systems Canada was formed to create the opportunity for Canadians to easily reach other Canadians working in all aspects of the unmanned vehicle systems field. Unmanned Systems Canada, through its annual conferences and various student competitions, is helping to create opportunities for even greater success in Canadian UVS ventures. The next gathering of Unmanned Systems Canada will take place in Vancouver, Westin Bayshore Hotel, Nov 12 - 14, 2013 . This conference will build on the huge success of our recent events and continue our aim of bringing the community together again from across the public and private sectors as well as from across Canada. We will continue with our secondary objective of educating decision makers on the enormous potential of UVS technologies in both defence and civil applications. As Canadians, we are blessed with the second largest country in the world while inhabiting only a small portion of it with our 33 million citizens. Unmanned vehicle systems, whether they fly, swim or crawl, have a role to play in aiding us in caring for and getting the most of out of this magnificent country. Unmanned Systems Canada aims to help with that vision. Unmanned Systems Canada works hard to encourage Canadian students and young engineers to get involved in the field of unmanned systems. We hold a Student UAV Competition, a Student Papers Competition, and in 2007 started the Mark Cuss Scholarship Fund to help young engineers interested in unmanned vehicle technology. We also recognize organizations and individuals who have contributed to the advancement of the UVS Sector with awards presented at our annual conference. |
